As I settled
into my chair,
and began to drink in the sweet relaxation
that Dr. Carol Robin offers in her “Opening
To Your Day” guided
meditation, I became painfully aware of
how unruly my mind actually is. Like an impatient
two year old my mind wanted to flit and
race to a million insignificant thoughts
and tasks. Thankfully, Carol’s
calm and comforting voice paired with her
delicious music gently drew me back, time
and again to the experience of stillness
and peace.
I
had only practiced this meditation for
a few days when I realized that I was not
longer willing to settle for the experience
of running a mental marathon and the ensuing
